Compañía Cervecerías Unidas S.A. (CCU) is a diversified producer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with operations in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru. CCU also exports wine to over 80 countries. CCU is the largest beer producer in Chile and the second most important player in this industry in Argentina. In Chile, it is the second largest producer of soft drinks, one of the largest wine producers, the largest producer of waters and nectars, and the largest producer of pisco, and also participates in the industries of rum, other liquors and functional drinks. The company holds licensed contracts, distribution agreements and/or joint-ventures with Heineken Brouwerijen B.V., Anheuser-Busch Incorporated, PepsiCo Inc, Seven- Up, Schweppes Holdings Limited, Société des Produits Nestlé S.A., Pernod Ricard Chile S.A., Watt’s S.A., and Coors Brewing Company. It has also developed its own brands, most notably the beers Cristal and Escudo, the soft drinks Bilz and Pap and the wines of the VSPT Group (Viña San Pedro Tarapacá).

Quiñenco participates in CCU through Inversiones y Rentas S.A., a company in which it has held an equal stake with the Dutch group Heineken since 2003. Together, both companies held 60.0% of the company as of December 31, 2017.

Its strategic plan toward 2018 is to progress in its goal of becoming a regional company and to this end its efforts will be mainly focused on growth and efficiency. The program ExCCelencia CCU, core within this strategic definition, has generated savings initiatives that improved operations and streamlined CCU’s organizational structure during 2017. Among them, it is worth noting the integrated sales approach of the beer and nonalcoholic categories in Chile to capture additional efficiencies and to improve the service level of the logistic operations.

CCU has close to 8.300 employees and annually produces more than 26 million hectoliters of beverages, reaching around 291 thousand clients in Chile and Argentina.

CCU’s shares are traded on the Santiago Stock Exchange, the Electronic Stock Exchange of Chile and the Stock Exchange of Valparaíso. The company is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States of America and trades its American Depositary Shares (ADS) on the New York Stock Exchange.
